To commemorate the life and works of William Shakespeare, KIIT organized its annual literary event 13th SKM Inter- School Competitions. Various activities were organized where participants exhibited their literary and creative prowess.The judges for these activities were the alumni of the school who have established themselves in various fields.Oratory skills of the participants were on a display when they paid glowing tribute to the bard by giving funeral speech in Impromptu Jig event. In Shakespearean Motley Crew event, the judges and the audience witnessed astounding performances by the students who brought alive on the stage different characters from Shakespeare
KIIT World School, Pitampura celebrated the spirit of care and share in its event ‘Spandan 2017’ on 25th December in the school campus. The program comprised of a plethora of activities wherein KIITians looked beyond self and lent a helping hand to the elderly, people with special needs, underprivileged sections of society and the animals. Apart from these, a lot of emphasis was laid on personal health and hygiene.
The event was graced by many eminent personalities from the field of education, medicine and fashion. Ms Shashi Bala Saini, deputy director of education, government of Delhi was the Chief Guest. The highlight of the program was felicitation of young girls from India Vision School. The gesture was an effort to bring smiles on their faces. India Vision School is a cherished dream of Sh Baldev Raj Kamrah, Chairman KIIT where all the needs of education, food and clothing are taken care of ensuring a quality life of these children.
The theme of ‘care and share’ reverberated in the entire atmosphere. It was heartening to see the dance performance of special children from Upasana School who could not hear yet showcased their talent with great enthusiasm and energy. At the same time, it was a humbling experience for all the audience. The program included Blood Donation Camp by Lions Club, Self-Grooming Workshop by celebrated Hair Stylist, Mr Jawed Habib, Cancer detection workshop, Mental Health Awareness Workshop, Dental and General Check-up and Animal Care session by Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Center.
‘Spandan 2017’ had everything for everyone from tiny-tots to the grand parents. On one hand, the children had a gala time enjoying the games stalls put up by the students in the winter fiesta. On the other hand, a blessing ceremony was organised for the grandparents where they were felicitated by their grand children. The happiness could be felt when they presented poems, songs and even dance on the stage. The event was an extension of school ethoes to promote values of coexistence and mutual understanding among people from diverse backgrounds. All the parents and visitors lauded the noble endeavour of the school.
KIIT World School, Pitampura unraveled its first session of MUN by setting the tables for a thought provoking debate to enable the youth to cultivate and nourish ingenuity, leadership skills , mental agility, confidence and commitment. The two day conference witnessed the attendance of more than 200 delegates from 25 schools. The event was graced with the presence of Mr. Rajesh Dabas, Chairman of Rajdhani College and Mr. Kamal Kant, a renowned and passionate politician. The theme for the conference was "artificia doucit fames" which means sophistication is born out of hunger. The debate made the delegates ponder over the problems plaguing the human race and facilitated them to engross in engaging sessions to collaborate and find solutions.
KIIT World School, Pitampura organized its annual Sports Day amidst much fanfare. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. B.R. Kamrah, Chairman, KIIT Group. The event witnessed the presence of Arjuna Awardee and World Championship winning Kabbaddi player Mr Dinesh Kumar along with Mr Rohit Kumar Chillar, Pro Kabbaddi League Player and a member of Indian Kabbaddi Team as Guests of Honour. More than 900 students participated in the sports extravaganza after the rigorous preliminary rounds that were conducted for all the students in various races and activities.
The Meet began with the March Past where the students were seen putting their best foot forward while saluting the dignitaries. This was followed by lighting of the ceremonial torch. The event was marked by display of various activities like yoga, parachute drill by tiny tots, Taekwondo, Judo, Aerobics and Basket Ball drill. The students showcased their agility and flexibility while performing these activities. The entire atmosphere was filled with fun and exuberance.
The sports events consisted of sprint race, burst the balloon race, three-legged race, dribble the ball, hurdle race, and much more. The enthusiasm and excitement of the students reached the crescendo whenever the participants reached the finishing line. They could be heard screaming and cheering the participants. The event also witnessed the participation of the parents and teachers in the races.. It was an amazing and exhilarating event which had all the ingredients – fun, dance, music, sports and a lot of excitement for everyone present.
KIIT World School, Pitampura organised Vasundhara 2017, an inter-school competition to commemorate Earth Day on 22nd April. The event was a part of the school’s Earth Week celebration which kick started from 17th April 2017 to protect environment from the dangers that are looming large over us.
The highlight of the occasion was tree plantation ceremony where Ms Heena Gambhir, Chief Guest, Sh. B. R. Kamrah, Chairman KIIT, Dr. Sangeeta Bhatia, Principal planted saplings in the school garden.
More than 500 students from various schools of Delhi participated in the events and showcased their creativity and ingenuity. Enthusiastic students engaged themselves in different competitions which were a reminder to us of our responsibility towards safeguarding the planet for posterity.
In Halla Bol event, the participants drew attention of the audience towards the plight of mother earth and suggested ways to come up with sustainable solutions. Young minds came up with innovative ideas and unleashed their creative potential in poster making competition titled ‘Paint the World Green’. The participants of ‘Directrix Cut’ event presented a movie clip on cleaner Delhi. It was a hugely successful event where all the students showed their solidarity for the noble cause of conserving resources for future use. The efforts of participants were lauded by all. The event culminated with presentation of trophies and certificates to the winners. Jain Bharati Mrigavati Vidyalaya, G.T Karnal Road took away the coveted rolling trophy for winning maximum number of events.
